Get Involved

Looking to get involved? There are many ways in which you can help, donating used goods, donating financially, or even donating your time by becoming a volunteer.

Drop-offs

Our Bowmanville store accepts gently used clothing, furniture, toys, electronics, knickknacks and food. Just bring your donations behind the store, ring the door bell, and one of our volunteers will be there to assist you. You can drop off your donations before 3pm on any day that the store is open.

Pick-ups

Do you have items that you would like to donate but are unable to transport them yourself, like a dresser or table? Then give the store a call at 905-623-7941 and schedule a pickup. We own a truck that we send from Pickering to Cobourg collecting furniture and other household items in cases where customers cannot drop the items off themselves. Our pick up team is comprised of a driver and one to two helpers. Scheduled pick ups occur every Saturday between 9am and 4pm. Mid-week pick ups can be arranged on a case-by-case basis.

Direct Donations

If you would like to make a financial donation, cash or cheque donations are accepted at our Bowmanville store or any of the conferences located in the parish in your area. Tax receipts are issued on donations over $25.00.

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul relies on volunteer efforts to maintain a variety of services and programs and has an ongoing need for dedicated volunteers.

There are a variety of opportunities available from sorting and pricing donated items to moving furniture or even driving our delivery truck. If you have any professional skills that you would like to volunteer, let us know as we are always grateful for skilled help.

All our volunteers must pass a criminal record check.

If you would like to volunteer, contact us at 905-623-7941.
